Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Sutton Recruitment are delighted to be working on this local opportunity with a reputable manufacturing business to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer.

Working within the Anaerobic Digestion section of the business, our aim is to create energy and capable of producing 10MW energy generation. The process of Anaerobic Digestion utilises this to create methane, which in turn is used to generate electricity that is 100% renewable and exported to the national grid.

Purpose of the role

The engineering team are responsible for the maintenance and repair of Production machinery, AD process equipment, water treatment plant, buildings and site civils along with welding and fabrication.

The individual working within the team of engineers need to ensure:

Adherence to safe working practices
Timely response to breakdowns
High quality of maintenance and repair
A proactive approach to improving machinery efficiency and effectiveness
Be prepared to travel to sister site 8 miles away

Key areas of responsibility

Adhere to the Site Health & Safety policy in all work activities
Completing Planned Maintenance tasks and recording of corrective actions on the computer-based Maintenance system
Ensuring that time keeping, and punctuality is maintained at an acceptable level.
Reaction to breakdowns ensuring quickest possible response and rectification
Organisation of maintenance and improvement works
Ensure all breakdowns are recorded along with the time and type
Ensure stock levels are maintained to a reasonable economic level, ensuring common failure parts are available by identifying parts required and upcoming issues are identified to the Engineering Leader
Supervise contractors ensuring safe systems of work are followed
Responsible for Pump repairs / refurbishment and any new installations and fabrications work
Completion of timely, accurate paperwork
Assistance with project work with Lead Engineer

Experience

Experienced in using Maintenance Management System
Directing and supervising of Contractors
Knowledge
Ability to read and interpret all Engineering Drawings
Development and Implementation of ‘Safe Systems of Work’

Educational
Relevant Mechanical Engineering qualification and/or Experienced time served Engineer

Hours
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday either 08:00-16:00 or 10:00-18:00, plus call out rota and additional over time at the need of the business.

Remuneration
Starting salary £36,000.00 - £37,000.00
