Reed Accountancy are delighted to be representing a reputable Darlington based business, who are looking to appoint for an Assistant Accountant on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a very well-known and well-respected organisation, working in a multi-functional role; ensuring effective organisation of the finance department and assisting the Assistant Financial Controller in producing timely and accurate management information.

Paying a salary of £27,000 - £30,000 per annum, and offering a lucrative benefits package. 


The role?

  • Assist with Accruals and Prepayments
  • Assist with month end reconciliation and procedures
  • Assist with Balance Sheet nominal reconciliations
  • Ensure the daily banking is checked and balanced against the daily takings
  • To report and record any variances and discrepancies to the department concerned
  • Daily bank reconciliation
  • Update weekly banking sheets and post into on a weekly basis
  • Daily Voucher Reconciliation for both sales and redemption – reporting any anomalies
  • Carry out monthly and sporadic departmental float checks
  • Assist with daily input of Purchase Invoices
  • Ensure the VAT return for accuracy and filed in a timely manner

To be successful in this role, you must be a strong team player who can communicate effectively at all levels. You must be proactive, confident, with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude, showing a genuine passion towards the role and business. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone, experienced working in the Hospitality Sector.
