Buyer

Pgs Gifts ltd. is looking for a buyer to join our e-commerce team. The role includes the sourcing and purchasing of materials, goods, and services. Working with departments on their purchasing requirements to ensure that the company’s operational needs are met whilst considering cost, quality, and ensuring continuity of supply.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a procurement strategy to deliver growth in sales and profit
• Proactive in sourcing new and exciting brands and products
• Build and manage supplier relationships
• Negotiate terms and agreements with suppliers to ensure favourable terms and conditions
• Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or concerns that may arise
• Forecasting and planning purchasing effectively and being data-driven in decision-making
• Arranging quality control, shipments and deliveries both nationally and internationally
• Ensuring in-stock positions are favourable and maintained
• Coordinate with the Operations Manager on promotional calendars, ensuring stock cover
• Identify and address gaps in the product range
• Carrying out competitor analysis to identify opportunities and market trends
• Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions and safety standards
• Creating purchase orders and liaising with the Operations Manager on deliveries

Candidate requirements:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers
• Ability to negotiate with suppliers locally and internationally
• Proficiency in Magento product management, Microsoft applications and task management softwares
• Willing and able to travel, to meet with suppliers and to attend trade shows
• Import and customs knowledge would be an advantage
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Strong strategic planning and organisational skills
