Reed Further Education are working with a further education college in Cambridge who are committed to providing exceptional vocational education. They are currently seeking a dedicated Assessor/Trainer in Carpentry to enhance their Work Based Learning department. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for education and a background in carpentry, looking to shape the future of the industry.

Job Title: Carpentry Assessor/Trainer

Position: Full-time, 37 hours

Role type: Permanent

Location: Cambridge

Rate: £28,760 - £33,400

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Conduct assessments of learners’ competency levels in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver engaging training sessions, workshops, and practical demonstrations to learners.
  • Collaborate with curriculum development teams to update and develop training materials and resources.
  • Provide individualised support and guidance to learners to help them achieve their learning goals.
  • Monitor and track learner progress, offering feedback and support as needed.
  • Ensure training programs meet quality assurance standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and advancements to continually enhance training programs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Level 3 relevant vocational qualification.
  • Level 3 TAQA or Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Qualifications (or equivalent, A1, etc.).
  • Proven industry experience in carpentry.
  • Experience in vocational education and training, particularly in assessing and/or delivering training programs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
