Our client is a rapidly expanding organisation with a focus on smart buildings achieved by utilising innovative technologies and solutions. As a group, they can provide end-to-end solutions for how a building is controlled to reduce energy consumption while retaining comfort levels for occupants.

We're on the hunt for a seasoned Engineering Manager to steer our engineering, project management, and technical support teams. This role is crucial for upholding our dedication to innovation, quality, and our core values, ensuring accountability at every level.

Leadership and Strategic Vision:

Spearhead the engineering department, project management, and technical support teams. Cultivate a culture of accountability, excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. Devise and execute strategic plans to achieve business objectives while aligning with our company values.

Financial Management:

Oversee and be accountable for the budgets, financial forecasts, and overall financial health of the engineering and technical support sectors. Effective supplier management for the provision of systems installation and maintenance. Ensure resources are utilised efficiently to meet project and departmental goals and delivery of exceptional customer solutions.

Project Management Supervision:

Direct project managers to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and scope. Foster a culture of task ownership in project execution and align project management practices with company standards and customer expectations.

Ensuring the provision of delivery on site for customers including equipment and supplies.

Technical Support Leadership:

Guarantee the Engineering and Technical Support Departments deliver effective support promptly to both internal and external stakeholders, improving customer satisfaction and product reliability. Embed a mindset of exceeding customer expectations in service delivery.

Promotion of Engineering Excellence:

Encourage innovation and the adoption of the latest technologies and methodologies to keep a competitive edge. Prior knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) and associated technologies is highly beneficial.

Collaboration Across Functions:

Collaborate with departments such as sales, marketing, and product development to ensure engineering projects support broader business aims, fostering a sense of working together to achieve the same goal.

Talent Development:

Mentor and develop team members, promoting a culture of learning, knowledge sharing, and accountability for personal and professional growth. Use 121 sessions with team to understand team members aspirations.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

Ensure engineering practices comply with industry and legal standards, maintaining the company's commitment to quality. Instil a sense of responsibility for maintaining these standards. Specifically ensure compliance with our ISO policies and processes. Ensure the highest standards of adherence to good practice for Health and Safety, this includes training and equipment provision, policy application and development.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of BMS technology, IoT solutions, and smart building concepts.
  • Qualifications in Engineering
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in engineering management, with a proven track record in project delivery and team accountability.
  • Solid financial acumen, experienced in budget management and financial forecasting with accountability for financial decisions.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities, capable of motivating a diverse team towards excellence and fostering an environment of accountability.
  • Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) and smart building related technologies preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities, strategic planning skills, and the ability to make informed, data-driven decisions.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish accountable and effective relationships at all organizational levels.
