Assistant Geotechnical/Geo-Environmental Engineer - Newcastle - £negotiable

My client is a successful environmental consultancy specialising in all stages of development with services delivered to clients across the UK. This client works on a wide range of projects including: commercial developments, housing estates and small property extensions. Although focused on all aspects of geotechnics my client has an extensive contaminated land department working on projects such as: petrol stations, scrap yards, power stations and railway land. This role is ideal for someone looking to broaden their site work experience under the supervision of experienced and senior professionals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Completing both field and office based projects to a high standard
  • Factual reporting
  • data entry of fieldwork result
  • Liaising and reporting to senior staff members
  • Client liaison
  • Data processing
  • Willingness to travel

Needed qualifications and experience:

  • Relevant in degree e.g. Geology
  • Some practical experience in phase 1 and 2 studies
  • An understanding of geo-environmental engineering
  • Ability to work as a team player with good communication skills
  • Excellent report writing skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
  • Ability to travel to different sites
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
