Your new roleThis is a hybrid role working up to 3 days a week from home and 2 days in the main office in Staple Hill, Bristol.
As the HR Advisor you will be working alongside the HR Manager and HR Advisors supporting in employee relations and generalist functions throughout the organisation. This will include:

  • Policy drafting, casework, supporting investigations, manager coaching and training delivery, to enable Operational Managers to effectively manage 'people issues' in alignment with the culture of the organisation, employment law and regulatory requirements
  • Effectively case managing people related issues using a risk-based approach, through supporting informal and formal processes.


This an interesting and varied role as you will also be getting involved in task outside of ER including learning and development.

Advising managers on all HR matters in a meaningful and accessible way, supporting the development of their skills, knowledge and confidence.
Drafting, researching, developing and updating people management policies and procedures including the annual review and update of the Employee Handbook, ensuring all documents reflect legislation and are aligned with organisational values and culture and providing/presenting manager briefings.
Supporting the organisation in progressing the equality, diversity, and inclusion strategy.
Supporting the HR Manager and wider HR team in implementing and embedding new people strategies and initiatives across the organisation.

What you'll need to succeed
Significant knowledge of employment legislation and best practice, with the proven ability to assess risk and resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways.
Preferably CIPD Level 5 however not essential
Open on sector background.
Ability to coach Managers in the use and interpretation of HR policies, procedures and processes.
Strong writing skills and ability to thoroughly check reports written by management.
Ability to examine, analyse and question data and identify trends.
Ideally you will be experienced in breadth and depth of volume casework.
Effective time management and work prioritisation with the ability to work well and positively under pressure.
Ability to provide effective professional communication, motivation and support to customers at every level within the Trust.
Good negotiation and persuasive skills with the ability to actively listen and adapt communication to suit different audiences.
Ability to examine, analyse and question data and identify trends.
