Lead DevOps Engineer

My client is seeking an experienced Lead DevOps Engineer to join the team and drive cloud infrastructure automation and DevOps practices. This is a hands-on role where you will manage a team of 2 DevOps engineers.

You will provide technical leadership and mentorship to the DevOps team. Key responsibilities include designing, building and maintaining cloud infrastructure as code using Terraform across AWS. You will manage and optimise CI/CD pipelines leveraging tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CircleCI. Administering and scaling Kubernetes clusters (EKS) for containerised application deployments is essential. Collaborating with development teams to streamline application deployment lifecycles and implementing security, monitoring and observability best practices are also priorities.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of DevOps experience with extensive Kubernetes expertise, strong programming abilities in Python (Java, Go a plus), and proficiency with Terraform, public cloud technologies, CI/CD tools, containerisation, and config management tools like Ansible/Puppet. 

My client offers a fully remote position with occasional travel, a salary range of £85,000 - £90,000 per year, and a comprehensive benefits package including pension, health, discounts and 25 days annual leave.
