Job Title: Paralegal - Private Client (Wills, Probate, LPA)

Location: East Surrey

Job Type: Full-time

Department: Private Client

Reports To: Head of Private Client Department

Job Purpose: To provide efficient and reliable support to solicitors in the Private Client department, assisting with the management of client cases involving wills, probate, and LPAs. The role requires a detail-oriented individual with a commitment to delivering high-quality legal services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the drafting of wills and LPAs, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and client wishes.
  • Support the probate process, including the preparation of applications for grants of representation and estate administration.
  • Conduct legal research and provide summaries on relevant laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files and records.
  • Liaise with clients, providing them with updates and answering queries in a professional manner.
  • Prepare legal correspondence and documents for review by solicitors.
  • Coordinate with other departments and external parties as necessary.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Law degree or equivalent legal qualification.
  • Previous experience in a paralegal role, preferably within a Private Client department.
  • Knowledge of wills, probate, and LPA procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
