Empowering Learning is seeking a dedicated Science graduate to work within a Secondary School based in Southwark. The ideal candidate must be an Science Graduate as you will be covering Science classes on a weekly basis and doing 1-2-1 Science interventions with the pupils. You will also need to be comfortable dealing with challenging behaviour and be able to show a calm approach to this behaviour. Experience of working with children or adults in an education setting isn't essential but is desirable. This role will involve supporting the pupils with basic subjects, in particular, English; you will support them by helping them stay focused and achieve their full potential in a classroom-based setting.


Job Responsibilities

  • Supporting secondary pupils specialising in Science
  • Ability to engage and support pupils
  • Able to build rapport with pupils quickly
  • Supervising and mentoring behaviour of pupils

Job Requirements

  • Happy to support children with learning difficulties or disabilities
  • Able to stay calm and de-escalate challenging Behaviour
  • Valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one
  • Available 5 days a week and able to commit to at least 3-months
