Do you want to make a difference to a child's life? Are you a resourceful, patient and experienced SEN TA who can support a child with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour?

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant who has supported children with SEN on a 1:1 basis? I am working with a large, vibrant primary school in Manchester that requires a patient, sensitive Teaching Assistant to support a child in Lower Key Stage 2. The child is based full-time in their mainstream classroom, but requires help to engage with their learning activities. The child can exhibit challenging behaviour so their Teaching Assistant needs to have a calm, patient approach, and be able to provide plenty of encouragement and appropriate questioning to help the child interact and develop their communication skills, vocabulary and ability to express themselves in a more controlled way.

I would like to recruit an experienced, adaptable SEN Teaching Assistant who can provide excellent support for the child, and help them to make progress in all areas. You must be able to integrate into a staff team easily and be an independent, pro-active person who can build relationships confidently with the staff and children. The child can get frustrated and have outbursts so it is important that you have a kind, patient and encouraging attitude.

This role is to start as soon as possible, and will be required up to the school holidays in July 2024. Prior experience of working in UK primary schools as an SEN Teaching Assistant is essential, and you will also need a relevant qualification to be considered for the role. You must have an Enhanced DBS on the update service, or be prepared to apply for a new one at a cost of £45.20. If you are a sensitive person with strong communication skills, and are able to offer effective support to children with additional needs in all areas of their development, please apply now.
