Academics are seeking individuals who are experienced and aspiring Cover Supervisors for a full-time position in a Welsh Medium Secondary school located in Cardiff.
The role: Welsh Medium Cover Supervisor
Pay: £100 a day
Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 8:30am to 3:30pm.
Essential Criteria: To hold a bachelor's degree
What does the role of a Cover Supervisor entail?
A Cover Supervisor plays a crucial role in maintaining continuity in education when a teacher is absent due to sickness, maternity or paternity. The main responsibilities include:
- Supervising and managing the classroom in the absence of the regular teacher.
- Ensuring a positive learning environment
- Facilitating the delivery of pre-prepared lesson plans and assignments provided by the absent teacher.
- Enforcing school policies and maintaining discipline among students
- Managing behaviour and addressing any disruptions
- Offering support to students by answering questions related to the work set.
- Taking attendance and reporting it to the school administration.
- Providing feedback on any issues or notable events during the lesson.
- Being prepared to cover a variety of subjects and grade levels based on the teacher's schedule.
- Adapting to different teaching styles and classroom environments.
What will you need as a Cover Supervisor?
- An Enhanced DBS check or be willing to apply
- Registration with the EWC, or be willing to apply.
- To have obtained a bachelor's degree
- Fluent in Welsh
