Job Title: Estimator - Groundworks Projects Location: St Albans Salary: £50,000-£60,000 DOE Key Responsibilities: Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates for groundworks projects.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather necessary information for accurate estimations.Evaluate project requirements, including materials, labor, equipment, and other resources, to determine project costs.Utilize industry-standard estimating software and tools to generate detailed cost breakdowns and proposals.Present estimates to management and participate in bid reviews and negotiations.Monitor and track project costs throughout the lifecycle of the project, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or variances.Stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and market conditions to ensure competitive and accurate estimations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, with a focus on groundworks projects.Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Effective communication and negotiation abilities.Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
