Description

In this cardiovascular disease awareness course, you will cover what cardiovascular disease is and the illnesses it includes, you will then look at the symptoms of each of the conditions. You will cover the risk factors for cardiovascular disease, including those that are modifiable through lifestyle choices and those that are non-modifiable.

You will also learn about the methods of diagnosis for the main types of cardiovascular disease and what each test shows in terms of cardiovascular health and how this may differ, you will also cover the various treatments including medications, exercise and surgery.

You will also explore what it is like living with cardiovascular disease and how cardiovascular disease can impact people on a psychological and social level, including work, relationships and the individual personally. You will gain knowledge on what support is available to those with cardiovascular disease and how those around them can offer support.

Important terminology will be put in bold throughout the course.

In order to complete the course, you must achieve 80% or more in the final multiple choice quiz.
