Course Curriculum

Module 01: Introduction and Basics

In this introductory module, we will learn basic electrical information such as the structure of atoms, how electrons work, what an electric current is and the principles of electrical resistance.

Module 02: Introduction to Fire Safety

In module two, we will learn about the fire triangle and why it is important. We will also explore the different types of fires, their characteristics, and first responsible person duties.

Module 03: Voltage and Resistance

In module three, we will explore voltage sources and the use of resistors, with important information on the types of fixed resistors, colour code and power ratings.

Module 04: Capacitance and Capacitors

In module four, we will deepen our knowledge of capacitors and how they store charge. It discusses a range of topics, including energy density of electric fields, voltage rating of a capacitor, and factors affecting capacitance.

Module 05: Safety Precautions

Module five covers general electrical and fire safety training, including protective clothing and the effects of electric current on the body. It covers safety compliance and guidelines that every responsible person should know.

Module 06: Fire Safety Legislation

In module six, we will deepen our understanding of fire safety law and legislation, with important information on fire enforcement, and step-by-step training on how to carry out a fire risk assessment.

Module 07: Measures of Fire Safety

In module seven, we will explore a range of general fire safety measures and arrangements, with training on how to use a fire extinguisher correctly, and planning fire escape routes.

Module 08: Fire Emergency: Evacuation Procedures
