About this Course
Our Forensic Psychology Level 3 course covers numerous units on explanations of criminal behaviour including biological, psychological profiling. Risk factors associated with criminal activity is also covered as well as abnormal behaviour and psychopathy. The course is designed to give students a strong knowledge of forensic psychology for anyone looking to, or currently working in, law enforcement.

Certification
To gain this Forensic Psychology Level 3 certification you will need to submit, and pass, all of the tutor marked assignments. There are six assignments in the course and no need to purchase any textbooks as we provide all of the lessons and materials required to learn the syllabus.

Course Content
This course assesses the following units:
Unit 1 – The Forensic Psychologist – In this unit, you will discover the difference between criminal psychology and forensic psychology. You will learn about the history of forensic psychology and look at different high-profile cases.
Unit 2 – Biological, Psychological and Criminological Explanations – In this unit, you will explore biological theories and learn how genetics can be responsible for personality. You will discover a variety of theories including personality, behaviour, psychodynamic and humanist.
Unit 3 – Abnormal Behaviour and Psychopathy – In this unit, you will explore abnormal behaviour and psychopathy. You will learn the differences between psychopathology and psychopathy and be able to identify the various classifications of each.
Unit 4 – Risk Factors and Assessment Tools – In this unit, you will explore the risk factors identified with mental illness and look at how these impact an individual’s mental health. You will learn about environmental and physical impacts before moving on to psychological impacts and genetics.
Unit 5 – Profiling and Behavioural Science – In this unit, you will explore different approaches to profiling and learn how social and psychological profiling assessments provide information about a suspect.
Unit 6 – Theories and Typologies of Rape – In this unit, you will learn about the model and typologies of rape. You will look at the four principal motivations believed to be behind the reasons for committing rape and study the different types of rape.
This course can be taken over a 12 month period but you can complete it as fast or as slowly as you wish.
