The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (L4-CET), formerly known as Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTLLS), is considered to be an industry standard gateway for those looking forward in tracking teaching or training in the FE and HE sector, although you will need access to learners to teach in order to meet the practical requirements of this course. You are not required to have any prior qualifications or experience to start the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training, but you should be able to log 30 hours of practice in training and at least 3 observations (each of one hour), which can be satisfied either through recording your teaching sessions or having your assessor observe you (which will be done virtually via video call).. Duration and Delivery

This L4 Certificate in Education and Training course is a distance learning course designed to be completed online at the pace that suits you with tutor support. The course builds on the previous Level 3 Award in Education and Training (formerly PTLLS) qualification.We provide a fast-track completion option for this certificate course. It can take as little as 2 weeks or up to 4 months, depending on your previous experience and the time you can dedicate to the course. Bear in mind that you must have 30 hours of practical teaching experience before completing Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training, formerly known as Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTLLS). The qualification is delivered through our Virtual Learning Environment.

Assessment and Verification

All units within this course are internally assessed by our qualified assessors and externally verified by the awarding organisation. The assessment takes the form of written assignments, support and detailed guidance for which will be provided by the tutor once you’re enrolled on our online portal. Practical requirements of this course include 30 hours of logged practice in training and at least 3 observations (each of one hour), which can be satisfied either through recording your teaching sessions or having your assessor observe you (which will be done virtually via video call).

Progression

Successful completion of this teaching qualifications enables you to proceed to the Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training, with RPL applicable to the teaching, learning and assessment in education and training unit. The Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training is an excellent opportunity to be eligible for QTLS status and to enhance your career profile.
