Overview

An ILM Level 5 coaching qualification is aimed at those with a responsibility for coaching and mentoring others within the workplace. It is also ideal for people who are interested in embarking upon a career as a freelance coach and mentor.

The suggested timeframe for programme completion is 10-12 months (including assessment of all three modules), however it is possible for delegates to complete the course within a shorter/longer timeframe. The timeframe will depend primarily on you, as it will be dependent on you completing the hours required for the practical assessment.

To successfully achieve the qualification, delegates are required to pass all three module assessments. Further details of which can be found below in the course description.

The qualification is made up of three core modules that enable delegates to understand, develop and demonstrate knowledge and skills in effective coaching and mentoring.

  • The first module 'Understanding the Skills, Principles and Practice of Effective Coaching and Mentoring within an Organisational Context' will provide delegates with an understanding of the skills, principles and practice required for effective coaching or mentoring within an organisational context.
  • In the second module 'Undertaking an Extended Period of Effective Coaching or Mentoring within an Organisational Context', delegates are expected to plan, prepare and maintain accurate and auditable records for 100 hours of coaching or mentoring with three or more people.
  • In the final module 'Reviewing Own Ability as a Coach or Mentor within an Organisational Context', delegates have the opportunity to review their ability to perform effectively as a coach or mentor within an organisational context.

This qualification is aimed at managers and those with significant responsibility for effective coaching and mentoring as part of their daily role within an organisational context. This qualification is also ideal for individuals who wish to move into a development role or start a career as a freelance coach or mentor.

This is also a valuable programme for HR and Learning & Development professionals who want to gain a recognised qualification to enhance and accredit their experience with a recognised qualification.

You can only do Online ILM 5 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring at Certificate level with us. We offer ILM 5 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring at Diploma level via zoom, if that is of interest to you.

Answer:

To achieve this ILM qualification, participants will have to complete the following post-course activities: 3 x work-based assignments need to be completed. We offer 1 year of support included in the price. Embedded in the assignments, the Certificate will require delegates to complete 18 hours of logged coaching with 2-3 people.

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered.
