Advanced Practitioner - Children and Families
  • Location: Gloucestershire (Gloucester, Cheltenham, Forest, Stroud, Cotswolds or Tewkesbury)
  • Job Type: Full time, Permanent

We are seeking a dedicated Advanced Practitioner to join our Children and Families team in Gloucestershire. The successful candidate will be pivotal in delivering exceptional services, ensuring the best outcomes for children and young people with complex needs. This role is ideal for a resilient and driven individual committed to our vision for children’s services.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Manage a protected caseload, focusing on children and young people with complex and challenging needs, risks, and circumstances.
  • Lead quality control and improvement activities within the team and across the service.
  • Support performance activities and contribute to the service’s ambitious improvement and transformation plans.
  • Provide supervision and management oversight for the practice and development of Trainee Social Workers and Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSW) within the team.
  • Work collaboratively to support families and communities, aiming to maintain consistency in the social worker assigned to a child from the initial contact until permanence is achieved.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Diploma or degree in social work, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent.
  • Registration with Social Work England (SWE).
  • UK-based statutory social work experience.
  • Completion of Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) if qualified after 2012.
  • A full driving licence and willingness to drive.
  • DBS clearance.
  • Experience at Senior Social Work level.
