Advanced Practitioner - Children in Care

As an Advanced Practitioner in our Children in Care team, you will be pivotal in providing exceptional services to the children and young people of Gloucestershire. We are looking for a resilient and driven individual to help us achieve our vision for children’s services. You will manage a protected caseload, focusing on children and young people with complex needs, and lead quality control and improvement activities within the team.

• Manage a protected caseload of children and young people in care, ensuring the best outcomes.
• Develop trusting relationships with children and young people from the making of the legal order until they turn 18.
• Provide supervision and management oversight for the practice and development of Trainee Social Workers and NQSW within the team.
• Take a lead in promoting and supporting quality control and improvement activities within the team and across the service.
• Support performance activities and contribute to the team’s learning and development.
• Offer practice knowledge and skills to other team members, supporting the team manager in embedding learning.

• Diploma or degree in social work, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent.
• Registered with Social Work England (SWE).
• UK-based statutory social work experience.
• Must have passed the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) if qualified after 2012.
• A full driving licence and willingness to drive.
• DBS clearance.
• Experience at Senior Social Worker level.
