A fantastic opportunity has recently become available for an SEN Support worker in a lovely school in Woodetaon.
If you are a psychology graduate and are looking for an opportunity that will give you valuable experience as well as be highly rewarding, then I want to hear from you!
Your role will be pivotal in providing support for students who struggle with Autism as their primary diagnosis. These children also have additional needs such as speech and language difficulties, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and other learning needs. Many have also been noticed as struggling with social, emotional and mental health needs.
Your key responsibilities as a SEN Support Worker will be something like:
- Facilitating therapeutic techniques with the students
- Ensuring the classroom is a safe and engaging learning environment
- Track and keep score of students' progress
- Manage classroom behavior - with the support of the class teacher
- Encourage the children to achieve their best
The successful SEN Support worker:
- The successful SEN Support Worker will be an individual who is calm, works well under pressure and has a positive and encouraging personality.
- You will ideally have some experience working with children but most of all be eager to learn.
- Experience working with children who have additional needs will be advantageous, but this is not essential.
- You must have an enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to apply for one
