Autism Advisory Teacher
ASEND are looking for a Secondary Advisory Teacher for Autism to join the team in Barnet. The chosen candidate will work in an advisory capacity and will principally work with schools and colleges to do consultancy work, finding out how they are getting on and whether they need further input from the team. You would work alongside the other advisory teachers in Barnet. This is a roaming job, the office is based in Colindale, however the role will mostly be home based/travelling to schools around Barnet. The right candidate will need to have a lot of autism knowledge, including knowledge of how to support schools with using symbols, sensory circuits, looking at low arousal in particular, practical implementation, comic strip conversations etc. This role is for 2 or 3 days a week. We are looking for a candidate who can start in May until the end of March 2025 (with the possibility of extension).

• You are up to date with the current thinking around autism, listening to podcasts, having links with autistic people.
• You have QTS
• You have liaised with external agencies and a range of other professionals
• You are a team player but can also work well independently
