Job title: Behaviour Mentor

Location: Redbridge, Essex

Pay rate: £90.00 - £110.00 per day depending on experience

Setting: Mainstream Secondary School

Start date: 6th May 2024

Duration: Long term with view to go permanent

Active Recruitment are working in partnership with an Outstanding mainstream Secondary School in Redbridge who are currently seeking proactive and enthusiastic Behaviour Mentors to join them dedicated team of staff. This is a highly reputable school with state-of-the-art facilities and teaching spaces. In this role you will be working closely with learners between the age of 11-16 who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and often display challenging behaviour.

Duties and responsibilities of the Behaviour Mentor

  • Provide regular feedback to SENCO and where relevant outside agencies about your student’s difficulties and progress.
  • Work 1:1 with learners who require targeted support
  • Identify barriers to learning and find ways to overcome them to engage your student.
  • Be confident to manage challenging behaviour.
  • Understand behaviour as a form of communication.
  • Support the emotional and social development of students, reporting any concerns to the Tutor or Safeguarding Lead.
  • Support staff with planning teaching and learning sessions, this will include preparing resources and setting up environment ready for sessions.
