We are currently recruiting on behalf of a large housing association in London EC1V for a Building Manager on a temporary basis for an initial 3 months. The Building Manager will be responsible for an over 55’s estate, managing sign ups, viewings, ASB complaints, H&S checks, and Fire alarm checks.

Other duties include.

  1. You will be the Key holder for the Building and ensure security of the community areas and facilities.
  2. Be the first point of contact and manage access to the building for residents, contractors, and visitors.
  3. Meet contractors on site and facilitate access to communal areas to carry out repairs, planned maintenance and servicing facilities and plant equipment.
  4. Allow access to utility companies for essential maintenance and servicing equipment.
  5. Monitor and facilitate resolution of complaints relating to communal areas.
  6. Monitor cleaning staff to ensure the property conditions relating to communal areas and facility.
  7. Carry out regular inspections of building to identify and resolve repairs.
  8. Repairs, Facilitate access and Guidant to the affected areas for contractors.

Experience and pre-qualification criteria.

  1. Facilities management experience
  2. Excellent customer services skills
  3. Self-motivated with the ability to prioritise your workload whilst being adaptable to the needs of the residents or service requirements.
  4. Excellent communication skills both oral and written with the ability to adapt your approach, dependant on the audience.
  5. Overall knowledge and experience of working with older people, and/or general public and service providers in a service-based role.
  6. Good IT skills (word/excel/outlook/ in-house systems)
  7. Knowledge and understanding of the housing/building management sector.
  8. Understanding or experience of health and safety issues and management
  9. Flexible to cover out of hours emergencies, and alternative sites, where required.

Able to drive, with the use of a car for work purposes.

DBS will be carried out before the role can commence.
