Business Analyst – Financial Services 

Overview:
Intec Select are currently partnered with one of the UK’s largest Life Insurance brokers who are looking for a Business Analyst to join their growing business.  As a Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in driving informed decision-making and strategic planning by collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to analyse business processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement solutions that drive efficiency and growth.  Working within an Agile environment, you will also perform duties such as user story creation, defining acceptance criteria, backlog refinement and supporting the team in achieving sprint goals.

Role & Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough analysis of business processes, systems, and data to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Creating, prioritising and refining user stories with support from Product Owners.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define project objectives, and develop actionable insights.
  • Reaffirming end-user requirements are being met, adapting the backlog and remaining flexible to changes in prioritisation or technical challenges.
  • Utilize analytical tools and techniques to interpret complex data sets and generate meaningful recommendations.
  • Provide support for defect management when running UAT for a specific project or using the JIRA platform to record any production related defects.
  • Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Working closely with the Data Team, to monitor and analyse all reports and reporting needs regularly.
  • Keep up to date with new technology systems and advances.

Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Proficient in the stages and cycles of software development.
  • Proven track record in a Business Analyst role, including developing business requirements and technical specifications.
  • Experience working in Financial Services or regulatory environments ideal.
  • Confident using JIRA & Confluence
  • Experienced using Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to translate operational requirements into user stories for the development team.
  • Capable of collaborating with various stakeholders across Operational and IT teams.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills.
  • Delivers high-quality documentation, including risk and benefit assessments and initial wireframes or diagrams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Package:
  • £50-55K basic salary
  • Hybrid working – 3 days in the office
