Cemetery Operative
We have a fantastic opportunity for two Cemetery Operatives at Stockport Council. This is a full-time temporary role for the next 3 months, with the possibility of extension.
What is the role?
Stockport Council are looking for two Cemetery Operatives for the next 3 months, your role will be to dig graves using machine and hand excavation.
What are your responsibilities?
- Previous gravedigging experience would be desirable, machine excavation, hand excavation, backfilling excavation.
- Grounds maintenance experience desirable
- Physical ability to carry out lifting, handling & hand excavation.
- Ability to work to timescales, sometimes under pressure & be able to follow instructions.
- Familiarity with installation of excavation shoring & all H&S implications.
- Previous experience of using a mechanical excavator (Bobcat 1.7 series)
- Experience of using Thwaites dumper (1 tonne)
What skills do you Need?
- Must have ideally Cemetery operative experience.
- Excellent People skills, as you will be speaking to the public, other members of staff and senior managers.
- You will need to be physically fit and healthy, as there will be a lot of digging and lifting involved.
- Full UK Driving Licence
