I am supporting Leeds City Council to recruit a Children’s Social Work Assistant on a temp ongoing basis

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children’s Social Work Assistant to join our area teams. As a Children’s Social Work Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting vulnerable children and families. Your responsibilities will include providing practical assistance, facilitating family time, and ensuring the well-being of those in need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with social workers and other professionals to support children and families.
  • Assist with transportation for children and families as needed.
  • Provide practical support, such as identifying and referring families to appropriate services.
  • Budgeting assistance and financial guidance for parents.
  • Participate actively as a member of a busy team.
  • Experience: At least two years of experience working with the client group in a paid capacity.
  • Diversity Awareness: Knowledge of social diversity and equal opportunities, demonstrated throughout all aspects of practice.
  • Legal Understanding: Familiarity with key legislation relevant to social care work.
  • Department Functions: Understanding of the functions of a health and social care department and related agencies.
  • Service Planning: Knowledge of methods to plan and review services for the client group.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to organize and prioritize work, managing time effectively.
  • Reporting: Experience in producing reports and written observations.
  • IT Proficiency: Basic IT skills.
  • Team Player: Able to work effectively within a team.
  • Customer Focus: Committed to providing excellent service to our clients.
