Adecco are supporting a London Borough Council team in a service role as aContracts Management Support Officer in the Neighbourhood Recycling and Waste team

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car essential

Our clients Recycling Service team has additional requirements following government funding, they are promoting the improvement of services and driving forward the provision of food waste recycling services to estate and blocks of flats.

They are seeking dynamic and collaborative individuals to join their team to provide the best possible service to support their approach to provisions to Recycling and waste in the Borough. Reporting to the Contract Management Officer. With no direct line management responsibility.

  • Full time role - 36 hours per week
  • Temporary Role - 3 months with likely extension as well as opportunity to apply for permanent role
  • £19.48 per hour PAYE / Approximately £25 per hour Umbrella (Circa £45K per annum)
  • Based in Havering
  • IT equipment provided

Working 'normal' office hours as required by their line manager up to 36 hours per week. There may be occasional requirements to work outside "normal" office hours including some early morning, evening, weekend and bank holiday working.

Job Context

  • Work within the Recycling and waste Team
  • Responsible for supporting the Contract Management Officer in managing the provision of Waste, Environmental Maintenance and Public Realm services
  • Ensure that the services delivered are of the required quality and, through liaison with the contractors, that they achieve contractual targets and demonstrate improvements.
  • At times, be expected to assist the Public Realm Project Officer and Waste Minimisation Assistant with day to day tasks and activities as required.

Duties

  • Provide waste and environmental maintenance operational advice to colleagues and residents
  • Identify and investigate problems with the waste and recycling collection services, and work with stakeholders to overcome them
  • Investigate and respond to complaints from the public and others concerning the work of the waste and recycling contractors
  • Carry out monitoring inspections for Street Cleansing (NI195), Highways Weed Spraying, Public Toilets and other Public Realm-related services
  • Ensure contractors are complying with relevant Health and Safety policies and undertake relevant risk assessments, task monitoring and audits

Must-have's

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car essential
  • Technical knowledge and experience of contracts and operations within the waste, recycling and environmental services industries.
  • IT systems such as (but not limited to) customer management and asset management systems
  • Excellent customer service
