We are looking for someone with an understanding of the 'world of education’ and who is a real 'people person’ alongside adopting a consultative and intelligent approach to their role. The team you will be joining are friendly and approachable and have years of combined education/recruitment experience between them so you will be well supported. We have excellent administration support so you will not be running your own payroll or sorting your own compliance!

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop a pipeline of income streams
  • Provision of high quality account management for new and existing clients
  • Actively develop knowledge of market to enable you to generate outcomes/income through business development calls, use of marketing, networking, and lead generation
  • Maintain and develop current and new client relationships to ensure they receive the best possible service at all times and to maximise every business opportunity
  • Write professional and effective job advertisements to attract candidates
  • Qualify candidate suitability for current or future vacancies/clients, through professional interviews and referencing, applying Safer Recruitment policies
  • Liaison with candidates on a daily basis to ensure effective candidate management
  • Resolution of conflict and managing client/candidate expectations
  • Understanding profit margins to justify and explain charges to clients where applicable
  • Using the internal recruitment system to record all recruitment activity correctly
  • Attending networking events and school visits (in person) to maintain/develop relationships and generate business outcomes
  • Deal with client/candidate queries and take ownership to follow up and ensure dealt with efficiently and in a professional manner

Is this opportunity right for you?

This role would suit an experienced recruitment consultant and/or someone who has previously worked in a transferable role in education - however, we will also happily consider strong sales or customer service candidates who can offer the required skills and ability to meet the key criteria for this role successfully.

You would need to show the following skill set

  • Knowledge of the recruitment/education industry (desirable)
  • Understanding of Apprenticeships (desirable)
  • Experience of using a CRM (desirable)
  • Proven sales/outcome track record (desirable)
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to adapt approach, as needed
  • A driving licence
  • Have a good level of literacy and numeracy
  • Possess good PC/IT skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Teams (Word, Excel and Outlook) as well as Zoom
  • Enjoy working in a fast paced environment where no two days are ever the same!
  • Ability to prioritise to respond to incoming tasks in a timely way and complete pro-active activities effectively
  • Be able to deliver terms/rates etc - successfully negotiating and gaining desired results

  • We are happy to offer home working, or you can work in our lovely office in central Carlisle if you prefer! (We do meet up monthly at our offices and you would be expected to attend in person)

*The role will be based over 3 shift patterns between 7am and 5pm shared out in the team. There is also a requirement to cover phones/emails for any cover bookings on evenings up to 9.45/10pm and weekends which works on a rota (1 in every 3 during term time). This is offered as time in lieu which can be taken in school holiday time. There are also some restricted holidays in term time which will be discussed at interview.
