Job Title: Estates Manager

Location: Redbridge, Essex

Setting: Mainstream Secondary School

Contract type: Permanent

Salary: Circa 60k

Active Recruitment are working closely with an Outstanding Mainstream Secondary School in Redbridge, who are seeking an experienced Estates Manager to join them as soon as possible on a Permanent basis. The successful candidate must be able to work under pressure, possess an eye for detail and be able to motivate others. This position deals with a wide variety of people and therefore requires sound communication, strong organisation and excellent interpersonal skills.

The role:
The Estates Manager is responsible for developing and implementing a long-term vision and strategy for effectively managing all aspects of the school’s estate. This includes preparing and maintaining plans, budgets, policies, and procedures to optimise the condition, performance, compliance and sustainability of land and buildings across the estate.

Duties and Responsibility of the Estates Manager:

  • Take responsibility for estate governance, risk management, and compliance
  • Contribute to annual budget planning process and forecast investment needs
  • Drive continual improvement in value for money from the estate
  • Develop and contribute to the school's procurement strategy for estate works, services and supplies
  • Lead on business continuity and emergency planning for all Trust sites
  • Strategically plan maintenance activities based on up-to-date condition assessments
  • Align maintenance strategy with asset management plan and budget constraints
  • Ensure maintenance work is prioritised and delivered in timely, safe, and compliant manner

The successful candidate must have an EnhancedDBS on the Update Service before starting this role.
