We have an exciting opportunity to work within higher education as an Events Assistant.

Role: Events Assistant

Duration: currently 3 months

Based: This role is based in Kingston upon Thames

Rate: £13.12

This role will be 100% campus based during induction and training. Once this has been completed hybrid hours will be offered.

Job description:

The team's primary objectives are to recruit to target and position the University as a centre of civic importance through the management of high-quality university, community and student centre events and graduations. In order to accomplish this, the role will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with the delivery of University events and projects, working to an agreed action plan, ensuring tasks and activities are completed on time and progress maintained.
  • Organising logistics (including room bookings, catering, IT and AV, signage etc.), building positive relationships with University colleagues and internal/external suppliers, so that events run smoothly and efficiently on the day.
  • Supporting event days by assisting with the event set up and break down, arrival and registration processes and dealing with queries from attendees, so that all participants have a positive experience.
  • Administering email inboxes ensuring appropriate actions are taken in a timely manner and excellent customer care provided at all times.
  • Using SITS and other appropriate IT systems and databases for the effective administration of events, ticket sales and monitoring of registrants.
  • Supporting marketing recruitment and communications activities, so that events are effectively promoted, key messages disseminated, and awareness and attendance increases.
  • Contributing to post-event evaluations and implementing improvements, resulting in continuous review and improvement to University events.
