Our client is currently looking to recruit HGV Mechanics for their busy HGV workshop on the outskirts of Thetford.

Are you looking to grow and develop your HGV mechanic skills in a fast paced environment within a well-established business?

Hours of work are: Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm, with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break. Overtime is available in the mornings, evenings, and Saturdays for £30 per hour, but must be agreed in advance with management.

Duties will include:

  • Perform inspections and maintenance work on HGV's, keeping accurate recordings.
  • Repair malfunctioning mechanical and electrical systems - within the Companies range of work.
  • Assemble and fit mechanical parts using hand and power tools (basic tools should be provided by you, with the company supplying advanced/large tools).
  • Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams and specifications.
  • Ensure that all parts fit together correctly, and meet the required quality standards.
  • Follow all health and safety protocols and guidelines while working.
  • Liaise with other team members to ensure work is completed to the demanding schedule.
  • After competency assessments / training you will also use welding equipment for fabrication, assembling and disassembly of metal parts and tools, as well as perform maintenance checks.

Skills and Experience required:

  • Class 1 driving license.
  • A minimum of 3 years covering HGV inspections, repairs and/or MOT preparations.
  • Clean UK driving license.
