Harmonic is delighted to announce an exclusive search on behalf of a dynamic, fast-paced TV & Film production company, in their search for an Assistant Accountant.

The Client

As a highly-regarded organisation in the TV production industry, you will be joining a scaling organisation who is renowned for their dynamic, sociable and non-corporate culture. Having just recently released one of the most talked-about shows in across the world, you're joining the business at an exciting time.

Due to their continued growth, they are looking for an Assistant Accountant who has a passion for TV & Film to support the Head of Finance. They are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-orientated individual with prior experience in a Finance Assistant role to join their dedicated team.

This role presents a unique opportunity to actively contribute to their finance operations and significantly influence their ongoing success. The Head of Finance, who has an excellent reputation for mentorship, has outlined clear progression pathway to Management Accountant in 12-24 months.

Our client operates a hybrid working policy with three days in the office and two days from home.

The Duties

This is a broad Assistant Accountant position that provides excellent exposure to month-end and management accounts. There will also be the opportunity to liaise closely with Production teams on monitoring show budgets.

In terms of responsibilities, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing support around month-end and preparing management accounts
  • Processing invoices and ensuring accurate data entry
  • Performing weekly bank reconciliations and payment runs
  • Managing VAT and Credit Card reconciliations across the group
  • Assist in implementing new systems and driving efficiencies
  • During productions, act as a point of contact within finance to external stakeholders
  • Work closely with the Head of Finance on year-end audit and group reporting
  • Ad-hoc projects to support the Head of Finance

What we need to see (essential):

  • Strong communication skills
  • Clear passion for the TV & Film sector
  • At least 1-year Finance/Accounts Assistant experience

What we would like to see (bonus):

  • Knowledge of Xero

Salary: £28,000-£35,000 plus discretionary bonus

Hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 days work from home (WFH)
