Finance Manager

Based in Dunstable, Bedfordshire, our client is looking for a qualified accountant to join their team as a Finance Manager on an interim basis for 12 months.

This job would suit a qualified accountant with excellent all-round financial experience to be responsible for assisting the Head of Finance in order to facilitate the day to day smooth running of the Finance function, by providing accurate and timely information and meeting reporting deadlines.

The company continues to go from strength to strength and with year-end and a capital investment programme happening at the same time, an extra pair of hands is needed to help with key finance deliverables.

The successful individual will be an ACCA / CIMA / ACA qualified accountant with a strong track record of leading a finance team whilst having a strong all round finance background. This individual will have experience and good knowledge of month end processes and balance sheet reconciliations. Strong IT skills, particularly proficiency with spreadsheet software, is essential. Experience using SAP R/3 is desirable.

Duties will include:

• Streamline month end close to improve close time
• Transactional governance and process improvement
• Posting of journals
• Agree intercompany balances
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Advise the Head of Finance of any other potential process improvements and implement
• Production of the month end pack
• VAT returns
• Train the team on new processes, ensuring new documentation is understood and followed

This is an interesting opportunity for an immediately available individual to take on an interesting short-term position that will offer a range of varied duties.
