Financial Accountant

A great client of mine in Cannock is seeking a highly motivated Financial Accountant (FTC 12 months), to join their General Ledger team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth running of the financial operations.

You will be offered a competitive salary between £35,000-£44,000 and the flexibility to work from home 2-3 times a week.

What you'll be doing:

• Assist the team in completing monthly tasks and adhering to deadlines.
• Review and update data on various platforms efficiently and accurately.
• Generate reports by retrieving information from the system.
• Prioritise workload and ensure data accuracy.
• Support the team with daily tasks and meet deadlines.
• Analyse large data sets and manually input data where necessary.
• Maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate processing and authorisation of transactions.
• Calculate monthly depreciation charges and update book values.
• Manage standard cost updates for ancillary items using Excel spreadsheets.
• Re code system errors and cost of sale variances.
• Process and reconcile allocated general ledger accounts (accruals & prepayments).
• Assist with quarterly balance sheet reviews and audit requests.
• Perform other ad-hoc finance duties and support the team as required.
