Financial Accountant 

Part time role (2.5 - 3 days per week TBC)

£46170 - £53000 per annum (Full time equivalent) - Room for progression 

Location - EC4M (Hybrid role) 

My Client, a regulator for Optical Professions based within London, are seeking a dedicated Financial Accountant to support their Chief Financial Officer across all finance functions. This role is vital in ensuring the integrity of their financial accounting, including in-year and year-end accounting processes, and preparing for external audits in line with their statement of recommended practice (SORP) accounting.

Day to Day of this role :

  • Ensure year-end accounting is completed accurately and on time, preparing for annual external audits and assisting with SORP accounts.
  • Produce monthly and year-end financial information, including balance sheets, with accurate application of financial principles and analysis of reconciliations.
  • Work alongside the Management Accountant to deliver timely and accurate financial information to support business decision-making.
  • Support the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in producing key financial schedules, including Financial Performance reports, cash flow forecasts, and budgeting for working capital & capital expenditure.

Required Skill & Qualification :

  • Qualified Accountant, ideally ICAEW/ACCA, with at least two years of experience. 
  • Strong technical accounting background and solid stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in the charity or not-for-profit sector is desirable but not essential.
