Financial Controller | Central London | £80-85k + Bonus

Exciting opportunity for a high calibre individual looking for a Financial Controller role in a leading global professional services based business with a great culture opportunity for progression.

My client is a well known and leading global professional services business who are looking to expand their leading finance function by adding a Financial Controller to the team. This is a fantastic role for an ACA qualified accountant who has 3 years post qualified experience in a similar size professional services business.

The Role

The Financial Controller will be responsible for the management and consolidation of financial statements and management reporting. In this role, you will take on a reviewer role and ensure that the financial control exercised by your team is adept and in a format that can be presented to senior stakeholders within the business. You will work closely with the Head of Reporting to advise on technical accounting treatment and liaise closely with the auditors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of 4 professional accountants and support their day-to-day operations
• Develop and train the team to enable them to reach their full potential
• Implement and monitor controls and procedures related to all areas of financial accounting and reporting as well as project accounting
• Manage the month-end close ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the required activities
• Manage commission payments to all consultants across the business
• Oversee the monthly payroll process for all employees globally
• Serve as a point of escalation and approval for journal entries, reconciliations, financial reports, etc.
• Oversee financial accounting for revenue, expenses, fixed assets, intangible assets, production, inventory, intercompany and more
• Prepare the quarterly and annual reporting including liaising with corporate to resolve queries in a timely manner
• Prepare and review cash flow statements, Statutory reports etc.
• Support external audit including acting as the key audit contact
• Take an active role in projects, for example, finance transformation/ ERP implementation projects
• Other ad-hoc tasks as required by the senior leadership team

Your Background

You are an ACA qualified accountant with at least 3 years post qualified experience as a Finance Manager or Financial Controller. Ideally, you have a background in audit followed by experience working in a consultancy/ professional services based business and possess excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
