Furniture Builder/Sales Assistant

We are Recruiting! Age UK is now looking for a proactive self-starter to join our fantastic Bognor Regis (Arun Retail Park) team.

Working in one of our busy furniture stores as a Furniture Builder/Sales Assistant, the successful applicant of this role will be tasked with constructing flat pack furniture, ensuring all health & safety measures are adhered to.

You will also be required to assist in the sorting of stock, the cleaning of our shop and work areas as well as assisting in the unloading of furniture delivery vans arriving at the store.

Please note that this position does involve lifting and manoeuvring a wide range of furniture and stock, which can be heavy!

This is a part-time opportunity, working 14 hours per week in our retail charity shop in Bognor Regis, Arun Retail Park.

About you

* You will have good hands on technical skills with the ability to build flat pack furniture to a quality standard and to tight deadlines.
* You should have good coordination skills and the ability to complete some heavy lifting.
* You'll be a great team worker and happy communicating with a range of different people.
* A basic understanding of health & safety and fire regulations will be important
* Full driving licence and the ability to travel between store locations

Additional Information

Flexible approach to work required. Occasional requirement to work outside of normal area or work additional days to cover holiday/sickness. Processing stock deliveries will regularly involve carrying and moving (sometimes heavy) bags of stock. You will also be on your feet for long periods of time and work in all weather.
