Gas Quality Engineer.

A Gas Quality Engineer is required for our prestigious client based in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire.

Our client is a global leader in gas measurement with laboratory facilities in the UK. Supporting the bridge to an economy based upon 100% renewable energy, they play a key role in the global measurement system ensuring traceability and accuracy of the analysis of transition fuels.

The company supplies specialty gas mixtures and testing/inspection services for customers using gaseous fuels to create energy.
Their customers range from large blue-chip oil and gas majors to small businesses creating biofuels from crops and other waste products.

Their expertise lies in the measurement, calibration and analysis of natural gas, LNG, refinery gas, biofuels/biomethane and hydrogen-enhanced gaseous hydrocarbon fuels.

Essential competencies:
  • Must hold a full UK driving licence.
  • Must be willing to travel extensively (up to 35% of time), which may be at short notice when required, primarily within the UK but occasionally overseas and offshore.
  • May be required to move cylinders weighing up to 56 kg on certain low ramps in the laboratory/business. Appropriate training and equipment will be provided.

Key competences:
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, required for dealing with our clients on a regular one-to-one basis.
  • Sound organisational ability with the capacity to work individually or within the team on many tasks concurrently.
  • A genuine interest in mathematics and science.
  • A willingness to learn and continue to develop new skills.
  • Ability to follow agreed procedures.
  • Formal and on the job training will be given to ensure the successful candidate has the necessary specialist skills to perform their duties.

Salary: £26k - £31k DOE
