JOB TITLE: General Manager- IT Distribution

SALARY: £60,000-£65,000 plus £40,000 OTE

LOCATION: Basingstoke (Hybrid 3 days in office a week)

We are working with one of the UK’s leading IT Distributors, a business that turns over in excess of £2Bn a year, who work with countless leading IT and Consumer electronics companies, distributing their products globally are recruiting a General Manager for their Smart Health, 3PL and New Vendor Acquisition team, based in Basingstoke.

Job Specification: As General Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing a team of 4, which includes 2 Business Managers and 2 Product Managers.

The role covers 3 core areas, smart health, 3PL and new vendor acquisition. You’ll be required to manage the 3PL and existing vendors in the portfolio as well as identify new vendors to bring on board.

In addition, you’ll be responsible for but not limited to: -

• Management- ensure favourable terms are negotiated to ensure profitability and efficiency of brands, this also includes stock holding, price, stock rotation and payment terms
• cultivate relationships across commercial, marketing and sales departments
• Management- devising an annual departmental budget based on company growth plans

Requirements:

We are looking for an experienced General Manager/ Business Manager with a background either in IT Distribution or working for a leading Retailer or onliner. Equally, you may have also worked heavily in consumer electronics.

The key here is someone who understands the market, who has excellent people management skills and has excellent commercial acumen.

You’ll be able to demonstrate your commerciality, through evidence of P&L management, contract negotiations and past vendor/ partner management.
