Our client are a publicly-owned contractor who carry out maintenance and repair services across 3000+ sites across England on behalf of a large public-sector organisation.
Your new role
The role of the Hard Services Manager works with the regional operations management team to deliver a seamless maintenance programme (Planned Preventative Maintenance and reactive), effectively managing priorities and ensuring customer satisfaction. Accountable for ensuring all work undertaken by internal and external resources is evaluated, assessed, and meets statutory regulatory compliance and legal responsibilities of the business. Key duties will include:

  • Team management - 4 direct reports with circa 30 indirect reports
  • HR and administrative tasks associated with team management
  • Liaising with client representatives
  • Working with CAFM systems
  • Ensuring maintenance services are to SFG20 standards
  • Using reporting systems to manage, monitor and report on KPIs

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role you will require relevant experience in the management of hard services, including fabric, mechanical and electrical services. You will also require:

  • Experience in managing large teams, including HR and administrative tasks
  • Broad technical knowledge across hard services
  • Relevant technical/trade qualifications desirable
  • Experience maintaining services to SFG20
  • Experience working with CAFM systems
  • Experience using reporting systems such as Power BI to monitor and report on KPIs
  • UK driving licence and transportation to get between sites (car allowance and expenses covered)
  • Demonstrable experience of managing and working with contractors and acting when required to resolve unsatisfactory work

  • £49,000 salary + (some negotiation possible for the right candidate)
  • £3,000 car allowance
  • Travel expenses covered (between sites and within reason)
  • 27 days leave + bank holidays
  • Some flexibility over working location
  • SMART pension contributions, up to 6% from the company
