Health & Safety Manager
  • Annual Salary: Up to £45,000

My client is seeking a proactive and dedicated Health & Safety Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for an energetic and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about improving workplace safety and ensuring that everyone goes home in the same condition they arrived. The successful candidate will be an active leader, visiting sites and distribution centres, participating in colleague forums, and leading best practice changes.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Assume full responsibility for ensuring adherence to the Company’s Health & Safety Policy, and guarantee that all staff members comprehend the significance of, and consistently adhere to, established safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to staff on every facet of Health & Safety.
  • Develop and apply both proactive and corrective strategies that effectively foster health and safety, as well as safe working practices within the workplace.
  • Perform comprehensive fire risk assessments across all company locations.
  • Execute thorough Health & Safety audits internally and ensure compliance at all sites; document findings and oversee the resolution log until all issues are fully addressed.
  • Oversee the management, documentation, and investigation of all incidents and accidents, inclusive of those requiring R.I.D.D.O.R reporting.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma.
  • NEBOSH Fire Safety qualification.
  • 4 years of management experience in Health and Safety.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail and a methodical approach.
  • Proactive and self-sufficient with strong teamwork and influencing skills.
  • Clear and confident communication abilities.
  • Willingness to travel, including overnight stays, as the role requires visiting multiple sites.
  • A current driving licence is essential.
