Are you a driven and ambitious solicitor looking to kickstart your career in health litigation with a focus on EL/PL Litigation.
About the Role:
Join my clients dynamic Health Litigation team, specialising in EL/PL claims for NHS Resolution, NHS Trusts, and other defendant clinical negligence clients.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Health Litigation Solicitor at this prestigious legal firm in Manchester, you will run a caseload of clinical negligence files, including:
- Drafting reports to the NHS Resolution
- Interviewing witnesses
- Drafting witness statements
- Instructing experts
- Instructing counsel
- Attending Court for Case Management Conferences and Application Hearings
- Negotiating settlements
- Holding conferences with Counsel
- Preparing for and attending trials and mediations
Additional Duties:
- Cover secondments to NHS Resolution and local hospital Trusts
- Assist colleagues in the running of higher value claims
- Draft articles for clients
- Cover free advice clinics at local hospital Trusts
- Give client training and presentations
- Supervise and coach junior members of the team
Qualifications and Skills:
- Qualified solicitor with up to 5 years PQE experience
- Solid understanding of clinical negligence claims, EL/PL claims, and litigation process
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
