JG171 - Highways Maintenance Operative

Location: Glasgow

Salary: £24,000

Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Highways Maintenance Operative on behalf of one of our clients.

You will play an important part in the installation of temporary traffic management and all aspects of highway maintenance works.

The standard hours of work will be Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week.

Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Undertaking all aspects of highway maintenance works including routine and cyclic maintenance activities, minor civils’ works and litter picking.
  • Drive/operate vehicles/plant ensuring vehicle checks, routine maintenance and cleaning is carried out.
  • Winter maintenance – including emergency call out and standby.
  • Safety is high on our agenda so ensuring the safety of yourself and the team is paramount.
  • Keep records, including drivers’ hours and any paperwork necessary.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A Strong communicator & problem solver.
  • Ideally, you will have a class 2 HGV Licence.
  • CPC card, with experience in Street works.
  • In addition to this, it would be desirable if you have Civils or Trade experience to help you hit the ground running, although this is not essential as training will be provided.
