St Andrew’s Healthcare is a charity with an excellent and well-deserved reputation as a provider of specialist mental healthcare. We transform the lives of people with the greatest mental health needs.

This service is part of our Community Partnerships Division who this year had their CQC rating as good.  Below are some of the comments from service users our services support:

“Changed my life and staff were incredible, faultless, supportive, skilled, lovely and polite”.

The therapy that has been provided with was like “no other I had received in 30 years”.

Community Partnerships, St Andrew’s Healthcare

Are you looking for an opportunity to be part of a dynamic, passionate and highly skilled team of psychologists and MDT where you can use your skills across a range of clinical populations?  Our service is constantly growing, so if you are a proactive, HCPC registered Psychologist with a strong client-focus, excellent communication skills and a “can-do” attitude, we want to hear from you.

We have a number of exciting opportunities within our Neurodevelopmental Services for Adults and Children and are seeking enthusiastic psychologists to join our team to provide diagnostic services for children and/or adults, depending on your experience.  Currently, most of these services are being delivered online but there will be a requirement to travel into the community in the midlands area for face to face assessments where required. Travel to the Northampton will also be required on occasion for attendance to team meetings and supervision. Successful candidates ideally have experience working with ASD service users and ideally have ASD assessment experience as well as trained in diagnostic tools such as the ADOS-2 and DIVA-5 assessments. However, where necessary, assessment diagnostic training can be provided as well as comprehensive support and supervision.

Our service specialises in developing and delivering community-based services for St Andrew’s. We currently offer a range of services including, a busy private therapy clinic, an Expert Witness Service, Diagnostic Assessment Clinics (ASD) and a Complex Treatment Service for Military Veterans. We are hoping that successful candidates who have relevant experience and capacity could also work across some of these other services and those within the wider Charity where opportunities arise.

The Role and Person

You will be able to work independently as well as closely and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. You will be eager to take ownership and responsibility for delivering your work and will be self-driven, results-oriented and be able to demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills.

You will be encouraged to develop your strengths and skills through a robust structure of clinical supervision and opportunities for professional development. St Andrew’s has an excellent record of providing opportunities for research, training and continuing professional development so you will also have access to peer support from the wider Charity, as well as regular CPD events. Training relevant to the requirements of the role will be provided.

Although our offices are based in Northampton, the post holder will mostly be required to deliver assessments online with occasional travel into the community so full driver’s licence is desirable. However, in return, you will also benefit from having the flexibility to work from home and hours that can work around your family life.

In order to be eligible, you will need to be registered with HCPC. ASD diagnostic experience is desirable but we can offer training if this is an area if you have good experience working with ASD service users.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate experience of working successfully with a varied child and adult population with a wide range of mental health needs and will therefore ideally have a minimum of 1 years post qualification experience but newly qualified professional with a particular interest in diagnostic services will be welcomed and supported.

One of our new team members who recently joined our team had this to say about us:

“What a refreshing and dynamic team! The clinicians are friendly and warm but also focused and driven. It’s amazing how quickly things get progressed here from ideas into actions”.

“Community Partnerships offers something different to other services that I have worked for previously; it’s diverse and expanding service has provided me with opportunities to continually develop through working with different client groups across a range of settings. This has allowed me to work with and learn from a number of clinicians with different areas of expertise. Its flexible working approach has also been great for promoting a good work-life balance!”

If this sounds like your type of working environment, we look forward to receiving your application.

Reward

We offer an excellent benefits package including pension, 38 days holiday, sickness policy on par with NHS, life cover, cycle to work scheme and opportunities for research, teaching and continuing professional development.
