We are recruiting on behalf of our client who is a social housing provider based in London and they are currently seeking a Housing Support Officer to join their team on a temporary basis. The role requires a basic DBS and the ideal candidate will have experience using Orchard. The role will be customer service and administrative based with some need to cover for other areas in the team when needed.

Below is a summary of the role.

  • To provide administrative support to the Local Neighbourhood Centre that is sensitive, customer focussed, efficient, gives value for money and which reflects the equality and diversity policies
  • To be aware of and work towards the identified Corporate objectives
  • To support the Local Neighbourhood Centre to achieve high levels of landlord satisfaction
  • To provide administrative support to the Local Neighbourhood Centre that is sensitive, customer focussed, efficient, gives value for money and which reflects the equality and diversity policies
  • Work as part of a team providing a high quality housing service that meets the needs of residents and is delivered in accordance with the Corporate Objectives and Team Plan
  • Provide routine administrative support to the Local Neighbourhood Centre including the opening and distribution of post, general photocopying and stationery management
  • Update and maintain the correspondence register and chase up any outstanding responses
  • Dealing with routine enquiries in a sensitive and efficient way including relaying to residents information held on the repairs system and other systems within the office
  • Taking accurate messages for other members of staff and forwarding them on via email in a timely manner
  • Maintaining and updating the waiting lists, undertaking allocations in accordance with agreed procedures and dealing with related general and complex queries including the issuing of permits as and when required
  • Raise repairs accurately and in accordance with the agreed procedures
  • Responsible for generating the estate inspection schedule, recording whether it has been completed and forwarding relevant information as required to staff and residents
  • Responsible for the duty reception desk, effectively dealing with all enquires relating to housing matters including liaising with colleagues to ensure that the enquiry is fully dealt with at the point of enquiry wherever possible
  • Carry out the weekly contact with open cases ASB complainants
