My client, a fast growing industry leader based in Basingstoke are currently recruiting for a dynamic assistant accountant on a permanent basis.

Hours - 37.5 hours a week - Hybrid model - 3 days a week in the office / 2 at home

Modern offices & car park on site!

KEY OBJECTIVES

Financial Modelling:

  • Conduct relevant financial/scenario modelling to aid decision making or influence further financial transactions eg recharge distribution Forecasting and Budgeting:
  • Complete monthly forecasting activities including up-to-date risks and opportunities schedules, including challenging the likelihood and timing assumptions of spend
  • Undertake the collection, collation and challenge of financial and other planning information with supporting risks and opportunities to inform the annual financial planning process encompassing short and long term plans for the business area
  • Assist business owners with the appropriate presentation of their positions to senior management Process Improvement:
  • Actively progress continuous improvement activities to ensure the work that is being conducted is as efficient as possible both for yourself and your business area. Wider/Decision support:
  • Be a key, visible point of contact for the budget holders within the business area
  • Act as a sounding board to new initiatives, actively inputting constructive thoughts and ideas
  • Help to identify risks and opportunities from a point of knowledge and understanding of the business and external factors

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified;
  • Proven and demonstrable business partnering experience or technical role within a Shared Service environment
  • Good analytical ability with attention to detail;
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present plans to support business decisions to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
  • Proven ability to explain financial concepts to non finance people
  • Financial Performance Analysis and Spend Management
  • Budgeting and Forecasting management * Exhibit strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication, emotional intelligence, diplomacy, tact, influencing, and negotiating skills
  • Detail focused with strong organisation and planning skills
  • Excellent MS Excel skills
  • High personal levels of motivation and delivery orientated focus * A proactive, forward looking and challenging mindset
