KS3 Teacher (SEMH)

Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting a dedicated KS3 Teacher for a specialist SEMH School setting based in the Blandford Forum area.

Our client is a specialist educational provision for young people with complex social, emotional and mental health needs. They are in need of an experienced primary or secondary trained classroom teacher to join them from September 2024 (possibly sooner) to work with KS3 pupils.

With the complex needs of the students, we are looking for individuals who are capable and enthusiastic to work in a challenging but highly rewarding environment.

The successful candidate will be working with students with behavioural difficulties and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, so prior experience within this field is essential. You will be supporting the children within the community as well as in the school setting.

Vacancy Details:

  • Location: Blandford Forum, Dorset
  • Position: KS3 Teacher
  • Contract: Permanent (Long-term)
  • Hours: Full-time, 8.20 am 16.00 pm
  • Start Date: September 2024
  • Pay Rate: Paid To Scale (MPS1-MPS6) + SEN Allowance

Experience, Training And Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience as an SEMH Teacher.
  • A genuine passion for working with students with SEMH needs.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs.
  • Experience in developing and implementing behavior management plans.
  • Commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive educational experience for all students.

About You:

  • You must be resilient and have the ability to deescalate challenging behaviour
  • Ability to recognise the needs of individuals and deliver the relevant and effective teaching
  • Have high expectations for the staff and pupils and ensure these are delivered and achieved
  • You will be able to manage staff members and support workers
  • Plan and deliver curriculum ensuring it is appropriate to the class/individual

To Be Eligible For This Role Through Prospero Teaching, You Must:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child-barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional references
