Lead Mechanical Engineer - Gas Division

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Lead Engineer to join our team and contribute to our Gas Projects division.
As the Mechanical Lead Engineer for Gas Projects, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the mechanical engineering activities related to gas projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and leading a team of mechanical engineers to deliver successful outcomes. You will be responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of gas projects, from design and development to installation and commissioning.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing a team of mechanical engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Overseeing the design and development of mechanical systems and components for gas projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including project managers, electrical engineers, and stakeholders, to ensure seamless integration and alignment of mechanical engineering activities with project objectives.
- Managing project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, regulations, and best practices in mechanical engineering for gas projects.
- Conducting risk assessments and implementing appropriate mitigation measures to ensure the safety and reliability of mechanical systems.
- Reviewing and approving mechanical engineering designs, drawings, and documentation to ensure accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Providing technical support and guidance to the sales team during the pre-sales phase, including technical proposals, feasibility studies, and cost estimation.
- Staying updated with the latest advancements and trends in mechanical engineering, and implementing innovative practices to enhance project outcomes and efficiency.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience (typically 8+ years) in mechanical engineering, preferably in the gas industry.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of mechanical systems design, construction, and commissioning.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal teams, customers, and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
- Sound knowledge of relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations pertaining to mechanical engineering.
- Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to overcoming engineering challenges.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality in all aspects of work.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Professional engineering certification or membership is preferred.
- Previous experience in the energy or power industry is a plus.
