Job Requirements of this Learning Support Assistant job in Cradley Heath

  • A Level 2 or above qualification in Education
  • Experience working in a school environment

Role Overview:

  • Working closely with the teacher, the role involves both one-on-one and small group sessions, including children with EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans).
  • Assist in the preparation of classroom displays with minimal supervision.
  • Promote high standards of behaviour and support pupils with behavioural, emotional, and social development needs.
  • Update School Management Information System (MIS) and CPOMs (Child Protection Online Management System) with pupil information and concerns.
  • Support the ethos of the school and maintain a safe environment.
  • Assist teachers in supervising pupils during outside activities and trips.
  • Assist in assessing pupil attainment and progress, and help develop and prepare curriculum activities/materials.
  • Provide cover during lunch and break times.
  • Support individuals and groups in raising core skills.
  • Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures regarding child protection, safeguarding, health and safety, security, data protection, and reporting concerns.
  • Successful candidates will undergo pre-employment checks, including an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, qualifications verification and identity verification. Two suitable references will be required.
